Norriton, Pa., February 22, 2007— The Automobile Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia (ADAGP) announces that 241,176 attendees visited the 2007 Philadelphia International Auto Show, making it the second largest show in its 105-year history. In addition, early exit survey results, conducted by Analytic Business Services, indicated that the Chevy Camaro was the most popular vehicle among this year’s show goers, followed by the Ford Mustang and the Jeep Hurricane concept.

“People come to the Auto Show to see the future of the automotive industry as well as revisit the classic cars of the past,” said Scott Lustgarten, chairman of the 2007 Philadelphia International Auto Show and president of Wilkie Lexus, Martin Dealership Group and Lexus of Chester Springs. “Equally important, they come because they are or soon will be in the market for a new vehicle and the Auto Show offers them an environment where they can browse the displays of all the major manufacturers at their own leisure.”

The Philadelphia International Auto Show, one of the largest auto shows in the country, was at the Pennsylvania Convention Center from February 3-11. A Philadelphia institution, this annual event has hosted over 1.4 million individuals since 2002. It is vitally important to consumers in the Greater Philadelphia market, as it will influence buying decisions of over $3 billion in vehicle sales over the next twelve months.

When attendees were asked why they came to the Auto Show, 58.6 percent said they came to see the new cars and trucks that will soon be or are currently available for purchase. The opportunity to see exotic vehicles was named the second most popular reason and a peak at the latest concept vehicles was voted third. When asked about their favorite manufacturer display, respondents cited Chevrolet followed by Lexus, Mercedes and Ford.
